General information

The curriculum is delivered in eight semesters, which is the minimum time for obtaining the degree.

Teaching

A course that has not completed 13 weeks of teaching is deemed to have not been taught. In terms of the mode of teaching, a course can be theoretical, practical, laboratory or a combination. The attendance of specialties, elective courses and any course that has a practical or laboratory part is mandatory. In compulsory courses, students are permitted to miss up to 30 percent of the total number of class hours. If a student is a member of a national team or falls ill, the absence limit is increased to 40%. In the first case, a certificate of participation in international competitions, certified by the General Secretariat of Sports, is required. In the second, a hospitalization document from a public hospital is required.

If a student is absent from a course for more hours than the maximum allowed, then he/she is considered not to have attended the course and is obliged to repeat it.

Evaluation

The assessment method in a course is determined by the course instructor and may include assignments, midterm exams, tests, and a final examination. The exams can be written, oral or practical. Five is the passing grade.

The final exams are held in three periods: (1st) January-February, (2nd) June and (3rd) September. The courses of the autumn semester are examined in the 1st and 3rd period, while the courses of the spring semester in the 2nd and 3rd period. Upon completion of eight semesters of study, students are entitled to be examined in each course in all three examining periods.

Course leaders are required to submit the final grade to the Secretariat of the Department no later than 20 days after the day of the final examination. Especially for the June exam period, the submission of grades must be made no later than July 5.

Written Exams Regulation

Students are required to arrive on time for the exams and have their police and student ID with them.

The invigilator has the right to refuse entry to a student who has arrived after the beginning of the exam.

It is forbidden for students to carry books, notes, other written material or electronic devices.

The invigilator reserves the right to change the position of a student, if he/she considers that this facilitates the administration of the examination. It also reserves the right to recommend the nullification of a written paper, when it considers that the examination regulation has been violated.

Students are required to stay in the classroom at least fifteen minutes after the topics have been announced.

When the examinee hands in the written paper, he/she is obliged to show his/her identity card for the invigilator to check for consistency.
