Thank you for applying to the Research Ethics Committee of our School. The Committee has the authority to determine whether the proposed protocol meets the criteria of good scientific practice and the ethical requirements, as stated in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) Code of Ethics in Research and the applicable legislation. The role of the Committee is neither to judge the quality of your research nor to approve any already conducted research. In addition, the approvals we provide do not eliminate the possible need for approval from other authorities (such as laboratories, hospitals or educational institutions).
Before submitting your application, kindly ensure the following:
- You are related to our School in one of the ways indicated in section 2 below. (The Committee does not accept applications from faculty members or researchers outside the School.)
- If you do not belong to the School’s academic staff, you have already obtained the approval of at least one of its staff member, who will oversee and will be responsible for your research.
- You have read the current AUTh Code of Ethics in Research.
- Your research protocol is not contrary to any of the fundamental principles of the Code.
- Your research is prospective and has not been conducted yet. (The Committee does not approve ongoing or already finished research protocols.)
- In case this is a research on human subjects, you have already prepared the necessary informed-consent form.
Please fill the form below as fully as possible. You must fill all fields marked with red asterisk. If you need help, you may contact the Committee at ethicscommittee@phed.auth.gr or the Committee coordinator, Professor Vassilis Mougios, at +30 2310992238.
